He is the Director of the ArmSec Foundation and runs a column on Media.am, covering topics related to the media industry. Samvel also teaches at “Aregnazan” Educational Complex.

For many years, he worked as a human rights advocate, later transitioning into journalism and editorial roles. He has also taught at several universities across Armenia.
